SimplyDo is committed to making its platform accessible to as many people as possible. We believe that everyone should have equal access to information and functionality online, regardless of ability or the technology they use.
This accessibility statement applies to our primary web platform and our Microsoft Teams app (the "platform").
Our Commitment & Goal
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our platform and adhere to as many of the available standards and guidelines as are possible and relevant. Our goal is to maintain full compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA standards.
Accessibility Features
Our product team use the following industry standards in an effort to maximise accessibility across our platform. We hope that by implementing these methods, we increase usability to a broader audience using our technology directly, via browser- or OS-level controls (such as zoom or contrast controls) or via assistive software and/or devices, such as screen readers.
-
Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML to structure content, which helps screen readers and other assistive technologies to understand the content.
-
Use of ARIA Attributes: Where semantic meaning cannot be fully implied or described using just HTML, or to describe more complex states, ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes are applied where possible to provide this extra context.
-
Keyboard Navigation: Most of the platform can be navigated using a keyboard. For example, using the tab key to change focus and cycle between links, buttons, fields, and other interactive elements.
-
Clear Language: We aim to use clear and straightforward language to make content easy to understand. We provide tools to administrators to update some terminology to further aid understanding of content relevant to the use-case.
-
Responsiveness: The platform is designed to be responsive, adapting to different screen sizes and devices, such as computers, tablets, and phones.
-
Customisable Colour Schemes: SimplyDo's platform allows customers to specify colour schemes that can provide the required contrast and visibility, and control text, language tone, imagery and other content and media to ensure appropriateness to their audiences. Custom branding in this way also provides a consistent experience for the user navigating between platforms.
-
Fonts: The platform allows fonts to be zoomed or enlarged (e.g. using the browser's zoom function).
-
Media: SimplyDo offers a range of ways applications and ideas can be created and submitted. For example, administrators can allow for the upload of audio files or videos (in addition to text) to enable challenges and calls to be accessible to people who prefer one medium over another.
-
Autosave: Much of the platform auto-saves in real-time. This means that content is not lost if the user accidentally navigates away from a page or experiences any issues with the platform.
Measuring Accessibility
We conduct regular accessibility audits on key user journeys and flows through our platform. This enables us to identify regressions or new issues.
We are developing a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) to help provide a framework for conducting our assessments and audits. We hope to then be able to make additional accessibility resources available to our customers and users.
Disclaimers & Areas for Improvement
While we work to ensure full accessibility, we are aware that some parts of the platform may not yet be fully accessible. However, we are continually reviewing and making improvements. Please note that our platform requires JavaScript in order to be run. We would like to increase the breadth and diversity of users involved in our assessments and audits in order to ensure accessibility can be maintained for a wider range of people.
Feedback and Contact Information
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of our platform. If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we're not meeting these or other accessibility requirements, please contact us by emailing support@simplydo.co.uk.
